St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church - Restoration Work

Renovation / Restoration North Hollywood, CA


Vancrest was hired by the Archdiosece to do restoration and improvements to the well-known St. Charles Borromeo Church in North Hollywood. This video shows the time lapse construction through the duration of the work. The project was delivered on a fast track, started in late summer and was completed on time to meet an aggressive schedule of Easter Sunday. Services included:

  • Extensive exterior waterproofing and restoration

  • Replacement of all interior plaster (asbestos abatement)

  • Extensive woodworking additions and refinishing

  • New precast concrete arches and traceries

  • Stone flooring

  • Terrazzo restoration

  • Gold leaf on cupola and tower

  • New openings in concrete walls (made possible using Carbon Fiber strengthening)

  • New enlarged restrooms

  • All new exterior stairs and flatwork, sand-wash finish

  • All new underground utilities

  • Artwork Installation
